Our eyes have to do a lot in the office. To relieve them, we recently introduced some exercises for in between. Here are a few more tips to keep in view.

"Eye-healthy" behaviours include:

  • Healthy diet

Vegetables such as carrots, spinach, tomatoes and broccoli are especially good. They contain beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.

  • Drink plenty of fluids

Sufficient fluid intake ensures more protective tear fluid.

  • Breaks during screen work

A break of about five to ten minutes from the screen and displays per hour of screen work is ideal. When doing so, let your eyes wander further away to relax them.

Since this is not easy in the workday, try it while talking on the phone. Unless it's a video conference, you may have the option of looking out the window or simply across the room.

  • Fresh air

During longer breaks, walks outside are good for your eyes and well-being, because the humidity is usually higher there than in offices.

  • Hygiene

Eyes can also catch a cold through smear or droplet infections (so-called "eye flu"). Therefore, regular handwashing and, if necessary, disinfection is also important here.

We wish you continued the right view for your work!
